Consultant Psychiatrist – Multidisciplinary Mental Health (UAE)

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its mental health services. The organisation seeks an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive adult and general psychiatry care across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including history taking, mental status examination, and risk evaluation.
• Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of mental health conditions such as mood, anxiety, psychotic, and personality disorders.
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence‑based pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and behavioural interventions.
• Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness, adverse effects, and overall patient outcomes.
• Handle acute psychiatric emergencies, crisis situations, and risk interventions.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, social workers, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure integrated care.
• Provide counselling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication adherence, and relapse prevention.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with confidentiality, safety, and clinical governance standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives, and service development.

Required profile

• Internationally trained Consultant Psychiatrist with recognised qualifications.
• Extensive experience in adult, general, and clinical psychiatry, including psychopharmacology.
• Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary, patient‑centred environment.
• Strong clinical judgment for managing acute psychiatric presentations and crises.
