Deputy General Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy General Counsel to lead regulatory legal matters for OKX across the Middle East, GCC and CIS markets. Reporting to the Global Head of Regulatory in Dubai, you will act as the primary legal contact for licensing, compliance and supervisory relationships in a fast‑growing crypto exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement with financial regulators in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kazakhstan and neighbouring jurisdictions, including licensing applications and regulatory notifications.
• Prepare and respond to regulator requests for information (RFIs) and maintain ongoing supervisory relationships.
• Advise senior business leaders on the impact of local financial services and securities laws such as VARA, ESCA, AFSA/AIFC.
• Support the development and implementation of compliance frameworks for crypto and digital‑asset products.
• Collaborate with the global legal team to ensure consistent legal strategy across all markets.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in a top law firm or in‑house legal department of a fast‑paced, brand‑name business.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written and analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated interest in cryptocurrency and digital‑asset ecosystems.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of financial services regulation in the Middle East and CIS (e.g., VARA, ESCA, AFSA/AIFC).
• Experience drafting and negotiating licensing agreements and regulatory submissions.
