Deputy Regional Office Director – Breeding Centre

About the role

An experienced Deputy Regional Office Director is sought to support the overall management and smooth operation of a Breeding Centre in Sweihan, Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Regional Office Director, the role leads assigned support functions through their managers and works closely with breeding, scientific, veterinary and technical teams so that operational plans are backed by the right people, facilities and services. It combines operational leadership, workforce and resource planning, financial oversight and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement strategies, policies and performance objectives for support services and operations, working with Head Office
• Lead regional workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, employee relations and employee relations through the HR team, and oversee outsourced hospitality, transportation and catering
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, accounting, cash flow, financial reporting and internal controls; review monthly expenditure against forecasts and propose corrective measures
• Ensure purchasing and stock management meet agreed operational requirements, and that facilities, equipment and technical resources are available, safe and maintained
• Monitor IT strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, data governance and technology-enabled business improvement
• Oversee operational planning, resource allocation, service delivery, quality and compliance with country regulations and internal protocols
• Ensure risk management, regulatory compliance, business continuity and cross-functional collaboration, and coordinate internal and external audits (HSE, financial, process)

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management or operational leadership role
• Proven experience managing large, complex, multidisciplinary operations or sites, and leading managers and substantial workforces
• Accountability for service delivery, workforce capacity, budgets and contractor performance
• Fluent English; Arabic strongly preferred, French an advantage
• Preferred: Master's degree, MBA or management certification; experience with multi-site operations and outsourced workforces; familiarity with ERP, HRIS or maintenance-management systems
