Director, Infrastructure – Power & Utilities

About the role

Lead the delivery of major workstreams and engagements for power and utilities infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Africa, acting as the senior client counterpart and ensuring progress without waiting for direction.

Key responsibilities

• Run day‑to‑day delivery of large and small engagements, structuring ambiguous problems and guiding teams to clear answers.
• Lead asset and portfolio work across generation, transmission, distribution, renewables, storage, water, desalination, data centres, cooling, waste and integrated utility systems.
• Build robust fact bases, business cases, benchmarks and implementation plans that clarify financial and operational implications.
• Turn findings into action through delivery governance, PMO, operational improvement, contract and claims actions, or value‑capture tracking.
• Lead client working sessions, steering meetings and produce concise decision‑making materials.
• Identify follow‑on work, shape proposals and contribute to account plans and pursuits.
• Integrate A&M specialists and external experts to deliver a single, cohesive answer to the client.
• Own project quality, scope, schedule, team performance and economics while coaching managers and junior staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA a plus.
• 8+ years experience in Power & Utilities, infrastructure, energy, water, data centre, cooling or waste with project, advisory or operating exposure in the Middle East/Africa.
• Depth in at least one core P&U area and breadth across the utility value chain.
• Experience in consulting, advisory, utility/developer, EPC, capital projects, infrastructure investment or relevant government/regulatory bodies.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, work with incomplete information and translate analysis into client actions.
• Commercial awareness, business‑development capability and client relationship management.
• Arabic language capability a plus; willingness to travel across the Middle East and Africa.
