Director of Cybersecurity Compliance (Remote, Freelance)

About the role

Ethos is seeking an experienced Director of Cybersecurity Compliance to work remotely on a flexible, part‑time basis. You will train a cutting‑edge language model by creating, reviewing, and refining professional documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks that support SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST compliance workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Produce AI‑generated audit‑readiness documentation for SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Develop and assess security risk assessments, control matrices, and vendor security questionnaires.
• Draft incident‑response plans, breach‑notification reports, and policy‑framework mapping documents.
• Create board‑level security posture and risk dashboards.
• Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of clarity, accuracy, and visual quality.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity governance, risk management, or information‑security compliance.
• Direct ownership of SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST certification projects.
• Proven ability to write and review complex compliance artifacts.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
