Director of Events

About the role

The Lana – Dorchester Collection is seeking a Director of Events to lead the events sales department in Dubai. This senior position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing and is part of the hotel’s senior management team.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the events sales team to meet financial, business and marketing objectives set by senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Finance and Front Office to develop and execute the annual sales budget.
• Provide regular strategic data, forecasts and reports to the Executive Committee.
• Oversee vendor coordination, multiple external suppliers and service providers for group and event operations.
• Manage budgeting, revenue, invoicing and contract administration for groups and events.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including DET and CID permits.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in events sales within the hospitality sector.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to turn situations into marketing opportunities.
• Excellent organizational and project‑management skills, capable of handling multiple events simultaneously.
• Passion for talent development and ability to mentor and grow a high‑performing team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of local event regulatory permits (DET, CID).
