Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the strategic direction of the property's Rooms department, ensuring that all guest‑facing areas meet brand standards and deliver exceptional service. Reporting to senior hotel leadership, this role oversees housekeeping, front‑desk, and related functions to drive revenue, control costs, and enhance guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the brand’s service vision and financial goals.
• Monitor room rates, specials, and promotions to maximize occupancy and revenue.
• Analyze service issues, identify trends, and adjust operations to improve performance.
• Review financial statements, budgets, and expense reports; audit costs and ensure profitability.
• Coach and support team members to manage occupancy, rates, wages, and controllable expenses.
• Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service and act on guest feedback.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field with 4 years relevant experience, OR a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience.
• Proven leadership experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales, or hotel operations.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial data and drive profitability.
• Excellent communication skills to convey departmental goals and brand standards.
