Director - Research and Publications

About the role

The Central Bank of the UAE is looking for a Director to support the Chief Economist and the Head of the Research and Economic Analysis Department (READ). The role will lead the bank’s research agenda, provide data‑driven analysis for senior‑level decisions, and oversee a team of economists producing policy papers and flagship publications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research that yields high‑impact reports suitable for publication in leading economics and finance journals.
• Analyse macro‑financial linkages and advise the Chief Economist on economic policies and trends.
• Develop and implement the bank’s research strategy, ensuring alignment with overall objectives.
• Build modelling and analytical capacity by mentoring direct reports.
• Apply advanced econometric techniques to forecast GDP, trade, inflation and other key indicators.
• Produce detailed analyses of international trade and finance and their implications for the UAE.
• Coordinate with external institutions to collect data for five‑year inflation and growth forecasts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in economic research and policy analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of economists.
• Strong understanding of macro‑financial linkages and global economic dynamics.
• Experience publishing research in reputable economics or finance journals.
