Electrical Engineer – Design

About the role

The Electrical Engineer – Design will be responsible for creating detailed designs for electrical lighting, small power and ELV systems in residential, commercial and industrial projects. The role supports the MEP design team and ensures compliance with local codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design plans, specifications and schematics for electrical lighting, small power and ELV systems.
• Perform system calculations, select appropriate cables, lighting fixtures and devices, and produce detailed drawings and schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and other engineers to integrate electrical systems with overall building services.
• Incorporate energy‑efficient technologies and ensure designs meet safety regulations and industry standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs and conduct quality checks on design deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer on MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations and industry standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MEP design software/tools.
• Knowledge of electrical lighting, small power and ELV system components.
