Engineering Supervisor

About the role

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of all engineering systems within the Aloft hotel in Abu Dhabi. This role ensures equipment reliability, safety compliance, and timely response to guest repair requests while leading a technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and hotel equipment, including calibration of controls, gauges, and meters.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut‑off valves; conduct life‑safety checks such as fire‑pump and generator run tests, and inspect fire sprinkler and alarm systems.
• Manage inventory, order parts and supplies, and maintain purchase order logs.
• Operate power lifts and other mechanical equipment safely.
• Assist in developing disaster response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching engineering staff.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering or maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Preventative maintenance and equipment calibration.
• Inventory management and parts ordering.
• Operation of power lifts and mechanical handling equipment.
• Life‑safety system testing (fire pump, generator, sprinkler, alarm).
• Use of computer systems for work order entry and tracking.
