English Lead Practitioner – Teaching Leadership Role

About the role

The school is seeking an experienced English Lead Practitioner to join its vibrant community in August 2026. This role combines high‑quality classroom teaching with coaching and professional development for English staff across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons for KS3‑KS5 and prepare students for IGCSE and A‑Level examinations.
• Provide subject‑specific CPD and one‑to‑one coaching to English teachers to raise instructional standards.
• Design and monitor strategies that improve outcomes for targeted and SEND learners.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align English provision with the school’s mastery and inquiry‑based learning goals.

Required profile

• PGCE and QTS/QTLS, or equivalent qualification.
• Degree in English or a related discipline.
• Successful teaching experience in English at secondary level within the UK system.
• Demonstrated track record of improving teaching and learning.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
