Financial Controller – Insurance Sector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a leading insurance organization in Dubai. The role combines oversight of daily finance operations with strategic reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in line with IFRS and IFRS 17, and prepare Board, management and regulatory reports.
• Lead the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework, risk assessments and remediation of control deficiencies.
• Coordinate annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis and provide management insights.
• Manage treasury activities, cash management, banking relationships and oversee accounts payable/receivable.
• Ensure VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, including filings and interaction with the Federal Tax Authority.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred) and a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA).
• 8‑12 years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the insurance industry.
• Proven experience with IFRS 17 implementation and CBUAE regulatory reporting.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and ability to drive continuous improvement.
