Financial Controller – Lead Cash to Accrual Transition

About the role

The Department of Financial Services at Zayed University is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting, produce full‑set financial statements in line with IPSAS standards, and strengthen internal controls across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare full‑set financial statements compliant with IPSAS standards.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
• Coordinate information for external auditors during the annual audit.
• Support Deans, department heads and staff on accounting policies and financial information review.
• Supervise fixed‑asset records and collaborate with Contracts and Procurement to validate periodic inventory of university assets.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Establish and execute internal controls over accounting and financial procedures.
• Provide accurate financial information for long‑term strategic planning.
• Conduct in‑depth financial analysis and present expert opinions to management.
