Freight Manager – International Logistics

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Freight Manager to lead and optimise international freight movements across air, sea and land modes. You will manage imports from Europe, Asia and the Far East into GCC countries and support exports to North Africa, Yemen and GCC markets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and optimise international and regional freight operations, including temperature‑controlled and time‑sensitive FMCG shipments.
• Manage freight procurement, carrier selection, rate negotiations, contract administration and relationships with forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers and customs brokers.
• Monitor market trends, capacity constraints and geopolitical developments to ensure uninterrupted supply‑chain performance.
• Evaluate routes, transit times, port congestion, customs requirements and regulatory compliance to determine the most effective logistics solutions.
• Drive cost‑optimisation initiatives while maintaining high service levels and on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in freight forwarding, logistics management and multimodal transportation (air, sea, land).
• Proven background in import/export operations, customs clearance, trade compliance and shipment documentation.
• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in freight quotations, carrier negotiations and rate management.
• Ability to manage complex supply‑chain challenges in volatile freight markets.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with freight booking, routing strategies and freight portals.
• Proficiency in freight management systems and e‑bidding platforms.
• Expertise in carrier negotiations and rate management.
