General Mechanic – Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

The General Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the fleet of property vehicles at Sheraton The Walk Dubai. This includes routine checks, minor repairs, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of engineering trucks, shuttle vans and electric carts, checking oil, fluid levels, tire pressure, battery charge and spark plugs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning, lubrication and parts replacement.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, record test results and report any equipment malfunctions.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies, requisitioning items as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, including proper storage of flammable materials.
• Assist with moving, lifting and positioning objects up to 50 lb and perform visual inspections for defects.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school education.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle or equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, follow procedures and maintain confidentiality.
• Physical ability to reach, bend, lift and manipulate tools and parts.
