Government Relations Officer (UAE National)

About the role

The Government Relations Officer will act as the primary liaison between Mashreq Corporate & Investment Banking Group and various government and regulatory bodies across the UAE and Qatar. This full‑time position ensures that all court orders, police enquiries and prosecution requests are processed accurately, promptly and in full compliance with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process UAE and Qatar court orders and law‑enforcement agency (LEA) requests within defined service level agreements.
• Handle police letters, public prosecution and CID correspondence across all UAE emirates.
• Manage the inbox for government‑entity emails and respond in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with branch managers, unit heads and internal departments (CIBG, RBG, Operations, Head Office) to resolve issues raised by regulators.
• Execute case processing through the Velocity‑MOFT system and ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Monitor case progress, follow‑up with stakeholders and guarantee timely closure.
• Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency and service quality.

Required profile

• UAE national status.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict procedural guidelines.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal and external parties.
• Minimum of 1 month relevant experience in a regulatory or compliance environment.
