Graduate Trainee - Credit & Political Risks

About the role

Join Howden’s 12‑month Graduate Trainee programme in the United Arab Emirates, designed for recent graduates eager to start a career in insurance and risk management. You will rotate through three specialist areas – Trade Credit, Structured Credit and Political Risk – gaining hands‑on experience while being supported by a dedicated mentor.

Key responsibilities

• Support brokers with trade credit, structured credit and political risk solutions.
• Analyse client information, review risk data and assist in preparing recommendations.
• Collaborate with broking, placement, claims, analytics and support teams across the insurance lifecycle.
• Participate in training, networking and development activities to build commercial and technical knowledge.
• Develop clear, practical advice that helps clients manage non‑payment, financial and geopolitical risks.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in economics, finance, law or a related field.
• Strong curiosity about commercial, financial and geopolitical risk.
• Eagerness to learn and develop consulting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with experienced colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
