Group Accountant - Nursery Education Group

About the role

An experienced, organised and proactive Accountant is sought to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of four companies within a nursery and education group in Dubai. The role covers the accounts of all four entities, working closely with nursery managers, administrators and management to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient processes. It is hands-on, with weekly visits to different nursery locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for four group companies
• Oversee invoicing, fee collections, payment tracking, receipts and outstanding balances
• Work with nursery administrators on parent billing, payment reconciliation and follow-ups
• Prepare VAT calculations, returns and comply with UAE tax regulations
• Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger records
• Handle bank reconciliations, supplier payments, petty cash and expense monitoring
• Prepare payroll records, monthly reports, cash flow statements, budgets and management summaries
• Monitor operating expenses and coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks and authorities when needed
• Ensure consistent accounting procedures and internal controls across locations, visiting sites weekly

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the UAE
• Experience managing accounts for multiple companies or branches
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, corporate tax and financial reporting
• Valid UAE driving licence and own car are mandatory
• Nursery, education or service sector experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail and deadline awareness
• Strong communication with administrative teams
