Group Financial Director

About the role

The Group Financial Director provides executive leadership for the hospital’s financial function, ensuring integrity, efficiency and alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals. Reporting to the CFO, the role oversees financial planning, budgeting, reporting and compliance with UAE regulations, IFRS and Joint Commission International standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of accounting policies, internal controls and financial governance.
• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts and long‑term strategic plans.
• Manage working capital, including accounts receivable, payable, inventory and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Oversee treasury activities, banking relationships and cash‑flow management.
• Review and approve profit & loss statements, balance sheets, financial ratios and cost‑volume‑profit analyses.
• Ensure payroll processing, fixed‑asset register maintenance and depreciation policies are accurate.
• Maintain compliance with UAE financial regulations, IFRS, VAT, WPS, EOSB and GPSSA pension contributions.
• Drive JCI compliance, audit readiness and insurance risk assessments.
• Collaborate with department heads, suppliers, auditors and IT to optimise financial systems (e.g., Cerner, ERP, Lawson).
• Represent Finance in board meetings and strategic projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Extensive senior‑level experience in financial leadership within a hospital or large healthcare organisation.
• Proven track record in budgeting, financial planning, treasury management and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and UAE VAT compliance.
• Advanced budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• treasury management and banking relationship oversight.
• Financial analysis, profit & loss reporting and balance‑sheet preparation.
• Internal control design and audit remediation.
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically Cerner, Lawson or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission International (JCI) financial standards.
