Handyman – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Handyman to join the facilities team at Mercure Abu Dhabi Downtown. You will ensure the hotel’s guest areas and back‑of‑house spaces remain safe, functional and visually appealing by addressing everyday maintenance needs.

Key responsibilities

• Fix minor issues such as leaky faucets, furniture repairs, drywall patches and basic carpentry.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment, fixtures and building systems.
• Handle plumbing tasks including leak repairs, drain clearing and fixture replacement.
• Resolve simple electrical problems such as replacing bulbs, switches and minor wiring.
• Carry out painting, touch‑up work and other aesthetic upkeep throughout the property.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring a high level of service.
• Follow all safety guidelines and hotel protocols while performing duties.

Required profile

• Comfortable interacting with staff and guests and building rapport.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster in a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong attention to detail, urgency and high energy level.
• Ability to stay calm and effective during high‑volume periods.
• Team‑player mindset with a desire for continuous development.
• Versatile, all‑rounder capable of handling a wide range of trade tasks.
