Head of Corporate & Commercial Finance

About the role

The Head of Corporate & Commercial Finance leads the end‑to‑end corporate and commercial lending business, shaping strategy, driving portfolio growth and ensuring robust risk and compliance standards across the UAE market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and lead a high‑performing Corporate & Commercial Finance unit, overseeing talent development and operational excellence.
• Partner with Risk Management, Credit, Legal, Operations, Finance, Treasury, Compliance and Technology to align strategy with market dynamics.
• Define and continuously evolve the finance strategy and risk appetite to meet growth and profitability targets.
• Originate, structure and negotiate complex financing solutions such as term loans, working capital facilities, trade finance, guarantees and structured transactions.
• Ensure pricing, tenors, collateral and covenant structures reflect credit risk, capital consumption and return expectations.
• Grow fee‑based and non‑funded income streams through advisory services, trade finance and cross‑sell opportunities.
• Maintain full accountability for portfolio performance, asset quality, regulatory compliance and risk governance.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in corporate and commercial finance, preferably within a banking or financial institution.
• Proven track record of building and leading large finance teams and delivering sustainable portfolio growth.
• Deep understanding of credit risk assessment, regulatory frameworks and market trends in the UAE.
• Strong executive influence and stakeholder management skills.
