Head of Section – Secondary (Grades 6‑12)

About the role

International Community Schools (ICS) Khalifa City is seeking an experienced Head of Section to lead the Secondary school (Grades 6‑12) within its American curriculum framework. The role demands strong leadership, deep curriculum expertise, and compliance with ADEK regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and day‑to‑day management for the Secondary Section (Cycles 2 & 3).
• Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and assessment aligned with US Common Core State Standards and AP programs.
• Supervise staff performance, conduct professional development, and manage recruitment.
• Analyze academic and behavioural data to drive improvement initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) policies and inspection requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (or related field); Master’s degree in Educational Leadership highly preferred.
• Valid US teaching license or equivalent; leadership credential preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of teaching experience in an American curriculum school (Grades 6‑12) and at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience with American curriculum design, CCSS, and AP guidance.
• Willingness to complete UAE background checks, qualification attestation, and medical fitness exams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with educational technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong data analysis tools for academic reporting.
