Health Information Management Clerk

About the role

The Health Information Management Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality, and supporting clinical operations across Al Dhafra Hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and organize patient records, including filing, retrieving, and updating information in the Health Information System (HIS).
• Purge inactive records, manage off‑site storage, and reactivate records upon request.
• Receive, track, and file external lab reports, referral letters, insurance authorizations, and other correspondence.
• Provide medical records and information for clinic appointments, admissions, emergencies, research, and audits.
• Process release of information requests, generate photocopies or electronic prints, and ensure accurate distribution.
• Assist physicians and clinical staff with incomplete documentation and support chart assembly activities.
• Enter and maintain accurate databases of transcribed reports and monitor turnaround times.

Required profile

• Special Certificate (as required by SEHA).
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar health information or medical records role.
