Heavy Vehicle Driver

About the role

This position involves operating heavy vehicles to transport goods according to assigned delivery schedules and routes. The driver works closely with the transport supervisor and warehouse teams to ensure accurate loading and unloading, and must comply with all traffic laws, safety protocols and company transport policies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy vehicles to deliver goods on schedule and along assigned routes.
• Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and carry out routine inspections before and after each trip.
• Coordinate with the transport supervisor and warehouse teams for loading and unloading.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Maintain delivery logs, fuel consumption records and trip reports.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents or delays to the transport supervisor immediately.
• Assist with basic vehicle upkeep such as checking tire pressure, oil levels and cleanliness.
• Support last-mile delivery coordination when required and comply with licensing and rest period regulations.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of proven experience driving heavy vehicles in a logistics, warehouse or distribution setting.
• Valid heavy vehicle driving licence (Category 4 or equivalent).
• Familiarity with local routes, navigation tools and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
• Strong focus on safety, punctuality and professionalism.
• Ability to handle documentation and communication related to delivery operations.
