About the role
GEMS Wellington Academy in Silicon Oasis is seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to begin in August 2026 or January 2027. You will join a high‑performing, inclusive community that values integrity, aspiration, and collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess History lessons for KS4/KS5 students.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Foster positive relationships with students and contribute to a supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative learning pathways.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to school-wide academic goals.
Required profile
- Hold a BEd, Bachelor’s degree with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience teaching History at KS4/KS5 level or equivalent.
- Growth mindset with a reflective approach to professional development.
- Willingness to collaborate and share outstanding practice with the team.
Required skills
- Strong evidence‑based teaching pedagogy.
- Ability to adapt lessons creatively for varied learner needs.
