Homeroom Teacher - Elementary

About the role

Nibras International School is seeking a qualified Homeroom Teacher for its elementary programme starting August 2026. The role involves creating a safe, stimulating classroom environment where pupils are encouraged to make progress, engage in meaningful learning and develop a love for learning.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
• Establish a safe, respectful classroom environment and supervise pupils at all times.
• Set stretch goals, monitor attainment and guide pupils to reflect on their progress.
• Apply knowledge of how pupils learn to plan and deliver effective lessons.
• Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy and correct use of Standard English.
• If teaching early reading, implement systematic synthetic phonics; if teaching early mathematics, use appropriate teaching strategies.
• Plan and teach well‑structured lessons, assign purposeful homework and foster intellectual curiosity.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of teaching experience, preferably in an international primary setting.
• Demonstrated ability to set high expectations and maintain positive attitudes, values and behaviour.
• Strong subject and curriculum knowledge with a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Understanding of literacy development and, where relevant, systematic synthetic phonics.
