Inpatient Pharmacist (UAE National)

About the role

Responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and prescriptions in accordance with accepted standards and established pharmacy procedures, while providing patient counseling.

Key responsibilities

• Review medication orders and patient profiles for appropriateness, drug interactions, duplication, allergies and adverse reactions.
• Calculate and verify pharmaceutical dosages, including paediatric doses, IV admixtures, TPN and chemotherapy.
• Prepare, compound and double‑check medications following applicable standards.
• Maintain inventory, report shortages and ensure proper storage conditions for all drugs.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain pharmacy equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Provide drug information and education to patients, healthcare professionals and students.
• Document dispensing records, patient medication profiles and ensure compliance with federal and local regulations.
• Participate in incident reporting, adverse drug reaction handling and quality‑safety initiatives.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Current UAE national pharmacy license.

Required skills

• Medication order review and drug interaction analysis.
• Pharmaceutical dosage calculation (paediatric, IV, TPN, chemotherapy).
• Compounding and double‑check verification of medications.
• Operation and calibration of pharmacy equipment.
• Documentation and record‑keeping of dispensing activities.
