Inspector - Welding and Coating (Topside)

About the role

The Welding & Coating Inspector (Topside) will oversee all contractor steel works to ensure the Offshore Substation (OSS) is fabricated and assembled to the required specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Client Representative on site, coordinating with contractors, site managers and quality teams.
• Monitor steelwork and coating activities, reviewing welding documentation, material certificates, equipment calibration and operator qualifications.
• Identify non‑conformities, report incidents and ensure corrective actions are executed.
• Participate in contractor meetings, technical partial acceptances, HAT and final visual inspections before sail‑out.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a welding and coating inspector, preferably in offshore wind projects.
• Fluent Arabic (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Certified International Welding Inspector (IWE/EWE, IWI‑C, CSWIP 3.1/3.2).
• EN ISO 9712 certification, level 2 for non‑destructive testing.
• Coating expertise (FROSIO Level 3, NACE CIP Level 2 or equivalent).
• Experience with non‑conformity management and punch‑list tracking.
