Intensive Care Nurse (Neurosurgical)

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is looking for Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses. The role provides direct and indirect patient care to patients of all ages using evidence-based nursing practice, and covers the behavioural, growth, development and psychosocial needs of patients. Strong neurosurgical ICU experience and at least two years of recent neuro ICU experience are strongly encouraged.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate admission assessments and monitor and document the patient's condition and the effectiveness of care
• Establish and implement a care plan, and evaluate and update it to achieve planned outcomes
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing protocol
• Assess and plan patient education, and teach patients and families about diagnosis, tests, procedures, medication use, equipment, injury prevention and nutrition
• Resolve customer service issues and report satisfaction results to Nursing Leadership
• Maintain patient confidentiality, uphold patient rights and promote patient safety and Magnet principles
• Participate in clinical nursing research and quality improvement initiatives, and report errors and near-misses
• Delegate parts of the care plan to the nursing team and lead the caregiver team in delivering safe, timely and equitable care

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
• Minimum three-year nursing curriculum from an accredited program
• Minimum two years of post-graduate experience in an acute care setting; the requirement is waived for graduates of UAE nursing colleges
