Internal Auditor – Retail & Hypermarket (UAE)

About the role

Huna AE Hypermarket is looking for a seasoned Internal Auditor with proven UAE retail, hypermarket, and FMCG experience. The role will establish and lead a robust internal audit and control framework during both pre‑opening and operational phases, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a risk‑based internal audit plan covering financial, operational and compliance areas.
• Conduct audits of inventory, POS transactions, pricing, cash handling, warehouse logistics and procurement processes.
• Perform surprise audits and spot checks in high‑risk zones.
• Evaluate internal controls, segregation of duties and access rights across ERP, POS and financial systems.
• Assess people‑related risks such as staff access, cashier behavior and payroll integrity.
• Prepare risk‑rated audit reports, quantify impact and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor corrective actions and provide advisory support for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit within UAE retail, hypermarket or FMCG environments.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulations, company policies, SOPs and delegation of authority.
• Ability to work independently, maintain audit independence and report directly to senior management.
• Excellent analytical, communication and report‑writing skills.
