Inventory Controller

About the role

The Inventory Controller will manage warehousing and inventory processes for the Engineering and Maintenance stores of the Dubai Metro, ensuring accurate material handling, storage, and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise inbound receiving, verify documents, record items in the Maintenance Management System (MMS), and label and store materials using FIFO.
• Oversee outbound issuance, process material kits, verify pick sheets, and maintain issuance trackers.
• Coordinate repair, decommissioning, waste management, and calibration activities, ensuring proper documentation and vendor interaction.
• Perform regular stock audits, cycle counts, and annual stock takes while maintaining 5S standards and safe handling of hazardous items.
• Lead the store team, manage shift handovers, prepare rosters and reports, and ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of stores/warehousing experience, preferably in rail or a similar industry.
• Degree, diploma or relevant qualification in engineering, supply chain management or related field; certification in supply chain management is desirable.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy items and operate forklifts safely.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably IBM Maximo.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
