Lead Auditor – Certification Department

About the role

The Lead Auditor will join the Certification Department of Bureau Veritas in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Operations Lead UAE and the Certification Manager. The role is responsible for planning, conducting and completing external audits against ISO standards, while managing client relationships and ensuring compliance with accreditation and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and close audit projects for ISO certifications (e.g., QHSE, BCMS, EnMS) including report preparation and submission to the technical centre.
• Coordinate with clients, technical teams and senior auditors to manage expectations, address non‑conformities and ensure timely delivery of audit reports.
• Maintain impartiality and avoid conflicts of interest while adhering to accreditation, IAF and HSE standards.
• Track audit schedules, update plans and communicate progress to the Operations Lead and Certification Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum five years of experience conducting ISO audits for marine, oil and gas clients.
• Qualified auditor for QHSE, BCMS and preferably EnMS or AMS.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO standards: 9001:2015, 14001:2015/2026, 45001:2018, 22301:2019, 50001, 55001, ITSMS/ISMS/PIMS.
• Understanding of ISO 17021, IAF accreditation requirements and ISO HLS.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Office 365 and planning/scheduling software.
