Lead Mechanic – Calibration

About the role

The Lead Mechanic – Calibration is responsible for maintenance, calibration, surface finishing and painting of Emirates and third‑party aircraft, components, tools and equipment. The role works under the guidance of a Supervisor or Engineer, ensuring compliance with company procedures and aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine component and tool servicing, calibration, maintenance, modification and approved structural repairs following manufacturers' manuals and safety protocols.
• Assist Supervisors or Engineers in troubleshooting, defect rectification and modifications, and ensure clean, FOD‑free work areas.
• Perform testing, verification, servicing and support for overhaul, repair, refurbishment, inspection and calibration tasks as per special procedures and workshop manuals.
• Maintain environmental monitoring records and execute quality‑related activities as directed by the Technical Manager or Lab In‑Charge.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Avionics, Electronics or related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a workshop environment covering areas such as structures, calibration, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel & oil, landing gear.
• Full knowledge of aviation regulations, international aircraft maintenance standards and industrial safety practices.
• Hold at least four calibration/servicing authorisations and be authorised to sign test, verification and calibration reports.

Required skills

• Aircraft calibration and maintenance procedures.
• Use of Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) and Standard Practice Manual (SPM).
• ISO/IEC 17025 quality management system familiarity.
• Operation of specialised calibration equipment and execution of intermediate checks and preventive maintenance.
