Lead Project Control Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Lead Project Control Engineer to oversee planning and scheduling for LNG compression and other oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves developing, monitoring and controlling integrated project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, including baselines, WBS, critical path and recovery schedules.
• Plan and monitor engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up activities for compression facilities.
• Coordinate planning across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors and client representatives.
• Identify schedule risks, delays and recommend mitigation and recovery strategies.
• Prepare weekly/monthly planning reports, S‑curves, dashboards, KPIs and management presentations.
• Support project controls activities such as forecasting, change management, earned value analysis and schedule risk analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 17 years of oil & gas experience, including 5+ years on PMC projects.
• Proven experience as Lead Planning Engineer on compression facility projects.
• Strong knowledge of FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or AACE PSP are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
