Lifeguard – Resort Pool & Beach

About the role

Fairmont The Palm, a luxury resort on Palm Jumeirah, is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to ensure the safety of guests at its expansive pool and beach areas. The role combines vigilant supervision, emergency response, and guest interaction in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise swimming activities and enforce pool regulations, safety policies, and water‑safety guidelines.
• Warn swimmers of unsafe behavior, rescue individuals in distress, and administer CPR or artificial respiration when needed.
• Conduct first‑aid treatment for injuries and initiate the aquatics emergency action plan as required.
• Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water quality to confirm they are safe and operational.
• Assist with pool cleaning, perform chlorine residual tests, maintain water‑test records, and add chemicals under supervision.
• Support or lead basic swimming classes when required.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain a safe environment for overlapping programs.
• Report all incidents or accidents to the Head Lifeguard or Director of Security.

Required profile

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Swim 400 m in under 8 minutes.
• Comfortable working under direct sun exceeding 45 °C.
• Enthusiastic with strong customer‑service orientation.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication and listening skills.
• Team‑player attitude.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• First Aid training.
• Water testing (chlorine residual testing and record‑keeping).
