Macro Portfolio Manager

About the role

Our client seeks an experienced Macro Portfolio Manager to lead Emerging Markets Macro strategies from Abu Dhabi. You will oversee substantial capital allocations, manage risk, and collaborate closely with a global team on macroeconomic and geopolitical insights.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate portfolios that capture global macroeconomic themes, delivering asymmetric returns with low correlation to traditional markets.
• Independently manage a significant capital allocation by developing, executing, and monitoring an Emerging Markets Macro strategy.
• Conduct in‑depth geopolitical and fundamental economic analyses of emerging economies to uncover unique opportunities.
• Enforce rigorous risk‑management practices, continuously evaluating positions and investment theses.
• Collaborate seamlessly within a global team, sharing insights and leveraging collective expertise.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on portfolio management experience, preferably at a hedge fund.
• Proficiency in fundamental geopolitical and economic analysis with the ability to produce independent country‑level research.
• Proven track record in Emerging Markets Macro, demonstrated by a Sharpe Ratio above 1.5.
• Deep knowledge of the target region’s economies and the liquid assets needed for strategy implementation.
• Exceptional decision‑making ability under pressure.
