Master (Ship Captain) – Offshore Vessel

About the role

The Master is responsible for the overall command of an offshore vessel operating in the Arabian Gulf oilfield. This includes ensuring safety, environmental protection, regulatory compliance and efficient navigation throughout each voyage.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the company HSE policy and conduct safety induction programmes for all crew members.
• Lead regular HSE meetings, inspections and safety briefings in line with the Marine Safety Management System (MSMS).
• Issue Master Orders and instructions, and act as the overriding authority for safety and pollution prevention.
• Apply the ISPS and ISM codes, maintain the Ship Security Plan and ensure all statutory certifications are current.
• Oversee voyage planning, safe navigation and the implementation of the vessel’s class and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Class 1 Master FG COC II/2 with no limitations.
• Minimum 3‑4 years experience as a Master on offshore vessels, preferably in the Arabian Gulf.
• Proficient English communication skills.
• Experience in towing, anchor handling and heavy mooring operations (50‑70 ton blocks) related to pipe‑laying projects.

Required skills

• Class 1 Master FG COC II/2 certification.
• Towing and anchor handling expertise.
• Heavy mooring anchor handling (50‑70 ton gravity blocks).
• Implementation of ISPS and ISM codes.
• Voyage planning and safety navigation.
