Mechanical Engineer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plant

About the role

Medisal for Pharmaceuticals Industry LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage on‑site mechanical engineering and plant maintenance activities for its GMP‑compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day mechanical engineering activities for the plant, including repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of all mechanical systems.
• Ensure continuous operation of boiler and steam generation equipment, HVAC systems (AHUs, chillers, cleanroom utilities) and utilities such as compressed air, water pipelines, pumps and valves.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and handle routine, breakdown and emergency repairs.
• Operate, monitor and maintain boilers in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, coordinating inspections and maintaining logs.
• Maintain GMP, EHS and regulatory compliance for all mechanical and maintenance activities, preparing SOPs, maintenance records and supporting audits.
• Coordinate in‑house repairs and supervise external contractors, service providers and AMC vendors.
• Support plant modifications, equipment upgrades and new installations, reviewing mechanical drawings, P&IDs and technical specifications.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience managing mechanical engineering and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to ensure compliance with GMP, safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong organisational skills to coordinate repairs and contractor activities.
