Medical Coder cum Insurance Coordinator

About the role

Via Medica International Healthcare is looking for a skilled Medical Coder cum Insurance Coordinator to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role focuses on accurate coding, insurance claim processing, billing coordination and compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assign accurate medical codes using ICD-10-AM, CPT and other applicable standards.
• Prepare, submit and follow up on insurance claims through eClaimLink, Daman, Thiqa and other Abu Dhabi insurers.
• Coordinate with insurers regarding claim approvals, rejections, resubmissions and reimbursement status.
• Maintain confidential medical billing records and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Liaise with physicians, nurses and clinic staff to ensure complete clinical documentation.
• Generate periodic coding, billing and operational reports for clinic leadership and corporate departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, Nursing, Pharmacy or related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience as a medical coder in a hospital or multi‑specialty clinic.
• Valid AAPC CPC certification and certification in ICD-10-AM coding.
• Strong knowledge of UAE health insurance regulations, especially in Abu Dhabi.
