Operations Manager – Field & Project Operations

About the role

Orbit International Survey Services LLC (Orbit ISS) seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead field and project operations across engineering, surveying, inspection, metrology and industrial services in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations for multiple on‑shore and off‑shore projects, coordinating manpower, equipment, vehicles and logistics.
• Plan and optimise crew mobilisation, field deployment, transportation, site set‑up and demobilisation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, QA/QC, clients, vendors, subcontractors and commercial teams.
• Oversee utilisation of surveying and metrology equipment such as Total Stations, 3D Laser Scanners, Faro, Leica, GPR and point‑cloud tools.
• Monitor KPIs, operational costs, P&L, productivity and equipment utilisation, driving process improvements and workflow automation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of operations management experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, engineering, inspection, surveying or marine services.
• Proven track record in field operations, crew mobilisation, logistics, site supervision and resource planning.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams and handling UAE/GCC projects, preferably with clients such as ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, BP or Shell.
• Valid UAE driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• Technical awareness of inspection & welding standards (CSWIP 3.1, CSWIP 3.2, AWS CWI, API 510/570/653).
• NDT methods: RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD.
• Surveying & metrology tools: Total Station, 3D Laser Scanning, Point Cloud, CMM, Faro, Leica, GPR, Spatial Analyzer.
• E&I & pre‑commissioning standards: CompEx, ATEX, IECEx, EEHA, loop checking, megger, continuity testing.
• Strong KPI management, P&L control, resource optimisation and workflow automation.
