Ophthalmology Specialist / Consultant

About the role

Dubai Medical University Hospital is seeking an experienced Ophthalmology Specialist/Consultant to join its clinical team in Dubai. The role involves diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of eye conditions while contributing to an academic environment focused on education, research and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and develop evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Carry out ophthalmic procedures, including cataract and laser surgeries, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support continuous quality improvement.
• Participate in teaching, research activities and clinical audits as required.

Required profile

• Valid DHA Specialist/Consultant License or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
• Extensive clinical experience in general ophthalmology and eye disease management.
• UAE hospital experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in cataract surgery and other ophthalmic surgical techniques.
• Experience with laser treatments and advanced ophthalmology procedures.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety, clinical quality and evidence‑based practice.
