About the role

Emirates Flight Catering Co (L.L.C) is hiring a Pastry Commis I in Dubai. The role covers the preparation of pastry products according to specifications, recipes and orders, and supervising commis II and commis III within the allocated area.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all products on time and efficiently according to specifications, recipes and orders.
• Guide, train and supervise commis II and commis III so they complete their tasks on time and understand the team's expectations.
• Plan production, manage resources, schedule materials and equipment, and handle cooking, dishing and cutting.
• Review recipes through trials and innovation, aiming to reduce costs without compromising quality, and keep supervisors informed.
• Arrange and dish food according to menus while following hygiene and safety procedures.
• Store products according to food safety and quality guidelines, and keep the kitchen, storage, chillers and freezers clean and tidy.
• Share cost-saving ideas with seniors and check, sort, receive and reject ingredients against specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum Senior Secondary School certificate.
• At least 2 years of experience, including apprenticeship or industrial training, or 3 years in lieu of technical qualifications.
• Experience in the culinary field.
