Payments Officer

About the role

Equiti Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Payments Officer to join its Retail Operations team in Sharjah. The role involves managing deposit and withdrawal transactions across multiple payment channels while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process all deposit transactions via banks, e‑banking, e‑wallets, cards and other PSPs.
• Process all withdrawal transactions through the same channels.
• Handle adjustments, indemnifications and credit transactions.
• Respond to client payment queries by phone and email (Zendesk).
• Collaborate with the Sales team to recommend optimal payment solutions.
• Guide clients on using the portal for deposits, withdrawals and internal transfers.
• Conduct compliance, risk and fraud checks in line with AML regulations.
• Liaise with banks and PSPs to investigate missing or anomalous payments.
• Report and follow up on technical errors.
• Maintain confidentiality of client data in accordance with data protection laws.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services or a related field.
• High degree of self‑motivation, accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Experience using Zendesk for customer support.
