Payroll Accountant – Emirati (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Accountant to join a leading government‑backed organization in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on accurate end‑to‑end payroll processing, financial reconciliations and ensuring compliance with UAE labour regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with HR and finance teams to maintain high‑quality payroll data, prepare payroll‑related journal entries, support audit activities, and identify opportunities to streamline payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and post payroll‑related journal entries.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulatory requirements.
• Process employee benefits, leave encashments, and end‑of‑service settlements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation.
• Collaborate with HR on employee data and compensation accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvements in payroll processes and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of payroll accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of UAE labour laws and payroll compliance.

Required skills

• Oracle ERP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
