Project Design Engineer – Hot Tapping & Leak Sealing

About the role

Wescon International BV is looking for an experienced Project Design Engineer to lead the design of hot‑tapping, online leak‑sealing and engineered repair clamp systems for live piping infrastructure in oil & gas, petrochemical and industrial facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete engineering solutions for in‑service piping, including calculations, design drawings, fabrication documents and material specifications.
• Produce GA, fabrication, assembly and manufacturing drawings and generate MTO/BOM, datasheets and technical specifications.
• Perform pressure, wall‑thickness, reinforcement and bolt‑load calculations and ensure structural integrity of clamp designs.
• Coordinate with fabrication, procurement, QA/QC and site teams and provide technical support during fabrication, installation and site execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in hot tapping, online leak sealing, pipeline repair or clamp design.
• Strong knowledge of pressure‑containing systems, welding, bolting, gaskets and sealing technologies.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3/B31.4/B31.8, ASME PCC‑2, API 570 and API 1104 standards.

Required skills

• Hot Tapping, Online Leak Sealing, Pipeline Repair, Engineered Repair Clamp systems.
• Piping isometrics, GA drawings, structural integrity analysis.
• AutoCAD (mandatory) and SolidWorks (advantage).
• Knowledge of ASTM, ASME, API specifications and relevant codes.
