Project Director – Strategic Leadership in Construction

About the role

The Projects Director provides strategic leadership and governance for all construction projects, overseeing the full lifecycle from pre‑construction through execution and handover. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while aligning with the company’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire project portfolio, defining governance structures, reporting frameworks and performance benchmarks.
• Approve master schedules, budgets, procurement strategies and monitor cost, schedule and margin KPIs.
• Ensure projects comply with contractual obligations, UAE construction regulations, safety standards and quality specifications.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, commercial and site teams to resolve bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost control, major variations, subcontractor agreements and commercial negotiations.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies, promote a zero‑incident HSE culture and enforce quality assurance systems.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate Project Managers, Construction Managers and Engineering teams, acting as the executive representative for clients, consultants and authorities.
