Purchasing Engineer – Instrumentation Products (Pressure, Level, Flow)

About the role

The Purchasing Engineer will manage the procurement of instrumentation products covering pressure, level, and flow measurement devices. You will work closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure cost‑effective sourcing while maintaining compliance with safety standards such as ATEX.

Key responsibilities

• Research and select vendors to improve profitability and reduce operating costs.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and supervise their activities.
• Coordinate quality issues and engineering changes between the company and suppliers.
• Review and renegotiate purchasing agreements, monitoring vendor performance.
• Analyze quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and manage inventory.
• Create and track purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules, and maintain purchase inventories.
• Work with the warehouse team to reconcile deliveries against purchase orders.
• Conduct market research to identify advantageous agreements and new vendors.
• Ensure all purchased items meet regulatory standards for explosive atmospheres (e.g., ATEX).
• Maintain accurate records of supplier evaluations, inspection reports, and quality agreements.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role.
• Experience with instrumentation products (pressure gauges, level transmitters, flowmeters, etc.).
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong analytical ability to produce financial reports and cost analyses.
• In‑depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory, and supply‑management systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
