QAQC Engineer

About the role

A full-time QAQC Engineer position based in Abu Dhabi, advertised by a human resource consultancy. The role covers quality control on construction projects, including highway, bridge and infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the project quality plan in line with the company's Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, project specifications, client requirements and international and local standards.
• Develop, review and update Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality procedures.
• Run quality induction and awareness sessions for project personnel.
• Inspect construction activities such as earthworks, pavement, bridge structures, tunnels, drainage, utilities, concrete, asphalt and structural steel works.
• Coordinate material inspections, sampling and field testing, and verify materials meet approved specifications.
• Witness and document inspections and tests, and prepare quality records, test reports, MIRs, method statements and handover documentation.
• Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and coordinate with the construction team, consultants and clients on quality matters.
• Attend site inspections, progress meetings and quality review meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a QAQC Engineer in highway projects, bridge construction, infrastructure works or road maintenance.
• Experience working with government authorities, consultants and major EPC contractors.
• Familiarity with earthworks, asphalt paving, precast structures, tunnel construction and drainage and utility works.
