Quality Inspector – Welding, Piping & NDE

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Quality Inspector (Engineer I) to oversee welding, piping and non‑destructive testing (NDE) activities across fabrication, installation and erection projects. The role ensures compliance with client specifications, industry standards and internal quality procedures while supporting a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on fabrication, installation, erection and testing of process piping, steel structures, tanks, vessels and metallic items.
• Review welding documentation including WPS, PQR and weld maps.
• Witness welder qualifications and verify material traceability and consumable control.
• Ensure welding equipment is calibrated and serviceable.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections during fabrication and construction.
• Supervise and verify NDE activities, ensuring technicians are certified and equipment is calibrated.
• Prepare and review inspection and daily welding reports, as well as test records such as PWHT charts.
• Coordinate NDE activities among subcontractors, contractors and Petrofac teams.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications and certifications for welding inspection and NDE.
• Ability to interpret welding procedures and test documentation.
• Experience in monitoring contractor performance and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
