Restaurant Waiter / Waitress

About the role

Kempinski is hiring a waiter or waitress for its food and beverage outlet in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role reports to the Head Waiter / Waitress, Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Outlet Manager and aims to provide courteous, professional and efficient service that encourages sales and maximizes guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests and perform all duties required at the outlet
• Know all hotel services and products, and all food and beverage items of the assigned department
• Explain items, perform upselling and offer alternatives
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment, and reduce spoilage and wastage
• Keep the workplace and surroundings clean and organized
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the outlet
• Handle guest enquiries courteously, report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors and follow up on complaints
• Operate the POS system according to the assigned training level
• Adhere to hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health and safety
• Assist with scheduled inventories of products and equipment

Required profile

• Experience in an F&B service role
• Excellent spoken and written English; an additional language is an advantage
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendors
• Good organizational and time management skills, and ability to identify and delegate tasks
